Inspiration is one of the most important factors to not only an artist but to the emerging students as well. Using my career as an artist and teacher, I hope to give students a glimpse of what an artist can accomplish. It is important to continue professional artistic practice while teaching, modeling for students all aspects of the profession. Art exhibitions and portfolio reviews are critical to the artistic process, allowing students to experience this at any age level will allow them to be more prepared for their future.
Today’s teachers should be well versed in the new technologies students will be using once they leave high school, this will help to prepare them for college. Also with each new technology, students will gain new insight, media, and new tools in order to create. Aside from technology, there is a greater need for critical thinking than ever before. It has become progressively more apparent that students need to be independent thinkers and problem solvers to succeed in today's job market. In order to learn more skills in the art classroom, both students and teachers must remain vigilant to these advances. If students are able to learn how to objectify and perceive art it will attune the students to help perpetuate the art movement.
